Transferring Calls: Blind vs Attended Transfers

Transferring Calls: Blind vs Attended Transfers

NOTE: The transferring process detailed below should work regardless of the phone model; however, button location may differ depending on the phone's model.

What is the Difference?

Blind transferring is when you transfer a call to another destination without announcing the call. This call will ring directly to the destination after you transfer it.

Attended transferring is the process of transferring a call to another destination but with a chance to speak with the Agent receiving the transfer. This allows you to give the destination some information regarding the call you are transferring them before they receive the call.

Blind Transferring a Call

  1. While on an active call, press the “Transfer” key.
  2. Dial the destination you would like to transfer the call to.
    • This can be an extension or an external phone number.
  3. Press the "Transfer" or "B. Transfer" button to complete the transfer.

Attended/Guided Transferring a Call

  2. Dial the destination you would like to transfer the call to
    • This can be an extension or an external phone number.
  3. Wait for the call to begin ringing.
  4. After you have connected to the destination, you can now speak with the other agent while the caller is on hold waiting to be transferred.
  5. Whenever the call is ready to be transferred, press the "Transfer" button to complete the transfer process.
    • If you would like to cancel the transfer, you can press the “End Call button while it is ringing or after it has connected.
