Transferring Calls on a Yealink Cordless Phone

Overview

You are able to transfer a call when using a cordless Yealink phone. You can transfer a call to another party in one of the following ways:

  • Blind Transfer: Transfer a call directly to another party without consulting.  This is sometimes referred to as a 'cold transfer'.
  • Attended Transfer: Transfer a call with prior consulting.  This is sometimes referred to as a 'warm transfer'.

Blind Transfers

When you use a blind transfer, you transfer a call without speaking to the party to whom you’re transferring the call. The call is automatically transferred as soon as you dial the party’s number.

Performing a Blind Transfer:

  1. Press the Options soft key during a call and select Blind Transfer

  2. Do one of the following:
    1. Enter the number or select the handset you want to transfer the call to. Press the Transfer soft key.
    2. Press the Directory soft key and select the desired contact. Press the Call soft key.
      • If both the office number and the mobile number of the contact are stored, select the desired number and press  or the OK soft key.

When the call is connected to the number or handset you specified, the LCD screen should pop up a notification saying, “Call Transferred”.

Attended Transfers

Perform an attended transfer if you want to talk to the party to whom you’re transferring the call. Or, you can choose not to talk to the party. In this case, you wait for the party’s ring-back sound, and then transfer the call.

Performing an Attended Transfer

  1. Press the Options soft key during a call and select Transfer.

  2. Do one of the following:
    1. Enter the number or select the handset to transfer the call to. Press the Transfer soft key to dial out.
    2. Press the Directory soft key and select the desired contact. Press the Call soft key.
      • If both the office number and the mobile number of the contact are stored, select the desired number and press the OK soft key to dial out.

  3. Once the other user answers, you can speak with them while the caller is still on hold waiting for the transfer.

  4. When the call is ready to be transferred over to that user, press the Transfer soft key once more.

When the call is connected to the number or handset you specified, the LCD screen should pop up a notification saying, “Call Transferred”.
